Personal:

I live in Salt Lake City, Utah. After the birth of my son in 2001 my fitness declined to a pathetic level. I have been running regularly since 2002. I currently run about 35 - 40 miles a week.

Ran two miles up the hill behind Ensign Peak, slow on the way up, fast on the way down.   Felt great the weather was great.  I love the view from there.

I started near the back of the field.  I warmed up the first mile.  I

wanted to avoid the problems I had at Moab.  It was a training run.   I was running about 7:15/

miles until mile 8 or 9.   I slowed way down after that, and jogged it in.  It's a beautiful course, and I enjoyed it a lot more after I slowed down.  I felt great at the end.  I jogged another three with some friends in Eden after the race, and went home and did another 2 with the dog.

Ran some laps around Liberty Park, not really sore after yesterday, actually felt pretty good.  I need to keep up the consistency.  The longer light in the afternoon has seemed to motivate me.

Ran around downtown Boston.  The weather kid-of sucks for running.

This was one cold, wet experience.  I never really got comfortable.  I stopped a number of times along the way, but it's all good.  I enjoyed myself and other than the cold.  I didn't really over exert myself on this one.  I wanted to start further back in the corrals than where they put me.  I knew it was a bad idea to start so close to the front, and that I would go out faster than I needed to.  That's exactly what happened though.  I ran 6:55s the first two miles then had to stop for a bathroom break and to adjust my clothing.  I was pretty much cold the entire race.  I jogged the rest of the way in, walked through all the aid stations.  Other than getting passed by thousands of people, the fans and the scene was pretty motivating.  There are no words to describe, turning onto Boylston and the last 1000 yards before the finish.

Ran some slow miles around the neighborhood, in between snow storms.  Feel pretty good.  I'm think about some new shoes.  My left foot experiences numbness and/or pain.  It doesn't happen always and it goes away after running.  Maybe I need an insert for my shoes or something.

Ran up City Creek Canyon for 2.5 then came back.  Ran at a pretty good pace.  Garmin never picked up the signal in the canyon.  I felt the best I have all year, totally recovered from Boston.  Starting to feel like my old self again.....   short term goal don't hurt yourself.    Went another 2 with the dog later, really slow.  They accepted my entry into the NYC marathon yesterday too, so I was excited about that.  I've never been able to get in the past.

Ran a slow 5 miles up City Creek Canyon and back.  I felt very good, a little stiff  on the steep stuff.

I have no idea what place I was.....   but this was a great event.  I throughly enjoyed this race. I started feeling tired about mile 6,  I was running about 7:00/ mi. until then.  I slowed to about 7:45/ mi until mile 12.  I slowed way down when I hit State Street, about mile 12. I don't know why, I was just staring at the city.   Then I got tired of being passed.  I got passed by a big booty and picked it up to the finish.  It was great course and the organization was flawless, with the exception of the marathon and 1/2 marathon drop bags being mixed together, so you had to wait a long time to get your drop bag.   This is a good race.  I didn't really race it, but I had a good time.  I did the marathon last year and I didn't like that as much, the SLC 1/2M is where it's at....
