I live in Salt Lake City, Utah. After the birth of my son in 2001 my fitness declined to a pathetic level. I have been running regularly since 2002. I currently run about 35 - 40 miles a week.

Ran to 6th Ave. & E St. My right calf is kind of tight. I don't know if I should stay off it for a while. It doesn't really hurt, more uncomfortable than pain.

Ran Jupiter Peak Steeplechase. It is ridiculously steep at the top. My calf felt better, but I was super slow. It didn't really matter, the view is great, I didn't get hurt. They changed the course over previous years. Instead of starting downhill, you start uphill imediately from the starting line, and continue for 7 or 8 miles..... up, up, up. The top is a steep and loose scramble up to the peak which I think is about 10,000-feet. It was good fun and will try to do it again next year.

Ran City Creek Canyon hill intervals w/SL track club. It was fun. I love City Creek. Felt decent, but I've determined that down is much easier than up, call it a revelation. I need to work on my up.

Took the dog on a very long walk. It was zero-o'clock when I got back, went back to bed. Dog seemed happy.

Ran the Park City Marathon. I barely trained for this race, couldn't find the starting line, and started 20 minutes late, yet somehow felt great until about mile 25 or 26. I finished about 60th place, which is surprising considering I started 20 minutes late. I didn't start passing the back of the packers until about mile 3. I was relaxed the whole time, it was fun. I like the Park City course. I'll probably do that race again.
